I shot this young ladies Senior pictures and had a blast then. She needed some updated headshots for her dance studio and couldn't help but have a little more fun. She is so fun to photograph. I loved all her different looks and we found perfect locations for each. I loved shooting some dance poses.

I had an awesome opportunity to shoot for a friend who is building a business in her basement. She is selling way cute and affordable (yes cute and affordable can go together) clothes in her basement. You need to like her on Facebook to keep up on her deals and check out her site. I am realizing how behind I am on blogging my pictures. So here I go in an attempt to get caught up. I will hopefully get on top of it over the next few days. I have had so many wonderful shoots and some neat opportunities that came up as well. Can't wait for your to see.

This lovely bride was fun to shoot and she is such a beauty. I'd love to have her gorgeous skin. Anyways, she is now married and is now back to "real" life after their honeymoon cruise. Congrats, you too. It was fun to get to know you!

As for the Mountain Dew shot. Her new husband is a fan and we had to have some fun. :)

Just had to let you all know I am still alive and just plain busy with life. I have so many fun shoots to post as soon as I can sit for more than a minute. Including more from Mr. Tough Guy.

I love playing the caption game with his expressions and couldn't help it with this shot. Isn't he a doll? I love him to pieces and love that I can hug, squish, and kiss him all I want.

I find Groomals a strange way to describe bridals but with the groom. It makes it seem like it is just the groom being shot. Formals is another word used for this type of shoot, but it makes me think of prom. So I think I will make up my own word to describe taking the bride and groom on a shoot before the wedding. I was thinking Groodals or Brimals. So I want to leave it to a vote. Which one do you prefer? Formals, Groomals, Groodals, or Brimals. I think I am partial to Brimals. ;)

I thought I would post a before and after shot. I don't think everyone quite realizes that so much time is spent on the computer post production. After you take a picture there are a few things that can be done that make it shine just a little more. With everyone having a digital camera these days I think photoshop skills is what sets the more advanced photographers from less advanced. It is also a matter of taste as is anything with art. I feel it is creating art in photography and the sky is the limit. When I take a picture I usually have the end result in my head. When the sun glows just right behind a subject and their eyes sparkle....I see it through my lens. I just have to come home and make it come to life on the screen. It requires a lot of time, but is one of the things I really enjoy in photography. I used to work in a one hour lab and then in a custom lab down town. I loved taking the negatives, making a test print and then making my corrections to have the final print look it's best. With the film age being over ran by digital, the process for me is the same, just in the comfort of my home and on my computer screen.

This is a big update of my little guy. These are pictures I have taken over the two months he has been here. I love this little guy so much and totally understand if you fall in love too. I had fun using some new props and hats that I made, some bought, and the green cocoon and hat at the bottom made by my Aunt Christy. The Tonka truck was his daddy's when he was a kid. So I am finally posting the rest of my maternity shots. My awesome friend Taisha and I collaborated and came up with these. I finished them off by editing them. I was so close to canceling because I really feel uncomfortable on the other side of the lens. She had to deal with my giggling and awkwardness and because of her patience and help, I had a blast. I was so torn on what to wear, how to wear my hair, glasses or not (much prefer not, but I always wear them so I thought it would be weird if I didn't and yes I used to wear contacts, but my eyes get so incredibly dry it is too uncomfortable now). So I am so sorry for all my clients that have to go through the prep for pictures. I hope I put you at ease and give you the end product you are looking for. So feel free to give your critiques. I would love to know your fave. Thank you ever so much Taisha.

Loved the addition of the dog this time. Not so cooperative, but he was cute. I had one as a kid named Gussy. He kept digging in the frozen ground to get into the neighbors chicken coop. He didn't last long on that venture.....RIP Gussy.

Just felt like taking some pictures of my little gal. I am behind on taking her 4 year old shots and this is part one. I have some ideas brewing in my head for a second shoot. Just need to make the time. We just walked down the street to a corn field by our house. She was excited to be my model and hugged the corn and wanted me to take a picture "hugging them like they were her friends". How could she not make me smile? This is what we got after lasting about 10 minutes. Tripping, falling, and pulling stomach muscles made me happy to call it a day, but she was perfectly fine to continue. She loves the camera and is so eager to please.

She is my little buddy right now. Just her and I with the others in school. She is so fun and happy and happy to tag along on my many errands. I love this little girl and the smiles, cuddles, and kisses she brings me everyday.

I love shooting bridals. Putting on that wedding dress and getting all dolled up makes you want to model. Trena was great and had no problem in front of the camera. I have enjoyed getting to know her and am excited for her new adventure ahead. I am working on her wedding now and will get that up soon.

Sweet Baby "M"

Baby "M" takes after her Mom...sweet and gorgeous.I just love this first shot,so soft and tender,and her eyes. Baby "M" is a ball of lovely squishy-ness. She was a month versus the typical newborn of 10 days or so,but being 8 lbs. 14 oz. she would have been squishy at 10 days. I love going to people's houses and trying new things. So as I was walking around the grounds of the Logan Temple taking shots I stumbbled upon the below shot. My daughter licking the window and her cousin watching or encouraging her to do it. I couldn't decide what to do so I took a shot and then just kept walking. I don't know if she was reenacting Hansel and Gretel or if she was just really hungry and looking for anything to taste...or her cousin dared her to do it and being the dare devil she is she followed through. It makes me wonder if the temple tastes good...hmm. Anyways I thought it was a silly shot.

This was my sister's wedding and it was gorgeous in Logan with the frost and fog. It was cold, but the wind wasn't blowing and that made it not seem too bad. Although, I was warmly dressed and wore gloves, unlike the bride. But she was a trooper. I think shooting family weddings is tricky. To enjoy the wedding and people you haven't seen for a while as well as capture all the important moments, but I think we managed just fine. I thought everything turned out so beautiful as well as the bride and groom. Congrats you two!!

I loved how the cake turned out. It was made by my friend the Cake Dame who has a button on the side of my blog. She is awesome, I highly recommend her if you are looking for any cake for any occasion.

I am a little behind in posting these, but here you go. She wanted an antique/ old fashion feel to her shoot. I think we got it and got some sweet shots. We got a late start and we were loosing light fast so we had to be creative and got some nice OCF shots. This is my sis and I had fun giving her some suggestions on preparations. I had fun making her bridal shoot bouquet (not as good as my other sister would have done) and making her jewelry. Beck, thanks for letting me get into the mix with you....hope I wasn't too much of a budinski.

Saw this way cute idea on Suzanne Plant's blog and also on Studio 5 of making your own photo valentine's cards. They had other cute ideas for gifts on Studio 5 if you are in need of gift ideas, but I thought this was so cute for her classmates and she is always game for a photo shoot. This is what we came up with for Leena and Sophie wanted in on the action and hers is below.

The idea with this one is to attach it to fruit roll up. I tried to get Bradyn in on it, but go a different direction, but he wasn't interested. He isn't as camera loving as the girls.

This is my sister and her beautiful family. They were in town for a wedding and Christmas and I loved having them all here and watching the cute cousin's play. We took a few quick shots. Now that the wedding is over I can show these beautiful bridals. I had so much fun on this shoot! I loved trying some new things and she was game, cold and all. This was the second one and it was up in Logan. It was cold, but not windy which makes a big difference. It was really foggy and added to the antique feel this bride was going for.
I will tackle these weddings just as soon as I enjoy the Christmas season with my family, but enjoy these morsels for now. Merry Christmas.!

So it is now safe to post some more bridals for J. They were married on Tuesday.....WooHoo!!!! Welcome to the fam Jess. Love ya.
I am absolutely in love with the first one. So this is the shoot that we got kicked off of 7-eleven property for shooting on the curb so we took it to the park strip...... so there. And, no we didn't get any red slurpee on her dress. She was such a willing model. We also went to the graveyard at dark and got creeped out listening to the leaves fall from the tree. It sounded like someone walking.....oooooh creepy. Loved it. As always your the best Jilly. Tell me what you think.

Count Down is Over

So this is the part two to the "I'm Counting Down" maternity post that I posted two months ago. The twins made it safe and sound and mommy and daddy couldn't be happier. They are absolutely adorable and I couldn't wait to get some pix. But, wow twins are quite tricky. Baby "M" was so content and baby "Z" just wanted to be snuggled. We managed to get some good shots all around. So enjoy these absolutely cuddlicious boys. I love when baby "Z" is screaming in baby "M"'s ear while he sleeps unbothered. I wonder if that will be seen more in the future?

Awwww, I just love this one. See what I mean about them being cuddlicious?

It has always been Becky and Jake for me, but that is because they are brother and sister and now she is marrying a Jake. It already easily rolls off the tongue, but poses for a lot of "no that Jake" in the future. Me being a big sister, I guess I can make up my own nicknames for them. That is a big sister prerogative....right?

She is from Cali and he loves his car, so I think we got a good mix of their personalities. I did a few more off camera flash ones and I love the moodiness it gives a picture. I will show you a shot with and without the OFC later so you can see the difference. I missed my ever so wonderful assistant, Jillian who reads my mind so well. I managed okay, but it wasn't the same without you. Hope you had fun......(note twinge of sarcasm). Let me know what you think.

So we will continue to unpack for numerous months, but amidst all the mayhem I was able to have one of my favorite shoots to date. She was so awesome, up for anything, and she had a way fun crew (mom and friend). I love it when the bride crew is so fun and into the shoot as much as me. With such a gorgeous bride, my job is cake. Can you tell I had fun on this shoot! Yet again, I couldn't decide. She was great! She is a dancer and brought so many fun outfits and shoes, so I couldn't help but show them off. She even brought her adorable puppy. I had to shoot her with her bug too and she had the perfect outfit. Do I even need to mention how amazing her eyes are. I am a brown eyed girl and have always wanted baby blues like my mom. So I love when I get to take pictures of people with blue eyes. What a gorgeous and talented girl. Thanks for having me shoot your senior pictures, It was so much fun. Also, thanks Ashley for coming along and helping out.

I was going to do a teaser, but couldn't pick just one. So help me out and leave a comment. This was one fun shoot. Kim was great. She has a busy month with graduating with her masters and getting married. Awesome accomplishments! Congratulations on both and hope you have a wonderful time. There are so many that turned out great. She was so fun and was up for anything. We hit a couple different spots and got a lot of variety. I shot longer than normal and have many more frames to go through than normal because she made it so fun and easy. Kim, sorry to have worn you out, but thanks for letting me take your pictures, you were great.

This is my sweet boy who humored me by allowing me to take his pictures. He just about had enough at one point and just couldn't take the stress of it all. This is him exhausted at looking at his mom behind the camera.
Bradyn, I do apologize to have tortured you so. Standing there looking as handsome as you, I thought would be so easy. Know I will do it again and again and will not regret my actions. It is because of you that must do this. Just think bud, someday you will thank me.......well maybe not, but your grandparents do and I appreciate it. Thank you and I love you dearly.

I took my boy out the other day to the same spot as my daughter and this is what we got. I had fun and he tolerated it. It couldn't have been all that bad because we got some good happy shots too. Post above tells more of the story.

Morning With My Girl

The weather is getting nice so I thought I would take one of my girls out to play. I get to play with my camera and she gets to play model, which she doesn't mind, except for the last shot. She didn't love the blue hat in this shot because it is a little smaller than the yellow (shown above, notice no pouting in that one) and she said it didn't let her eyebrows go up. Apparently she needs to have full mobility of eyebrows. So I couldn't help myself and took a few of her pouting. Ahhh, she still is adorable even when she pouts.

This is a good friend of mine and her kids. They are all adorable. I loved them all, but the first is probably my favorite of this shoot. Her simple expression with those beautiful lips and eyes, is gorgeous.

Proof Books

These are the proof books that I make. They are really fun and very classy. The engagement books can be made with more empty space around the photos to be used as a guest book. I spend a lot of time placing the pictures within the book to tell a story rather then random shots on the pages. The books are custom bound and printed. The engagement, bridals, and senior books are 7x7 and the wedding books are 8x10. These are included in your engagement, bridal, and senior sitting fee. At your request they can also be made for family and children shoots. Aren't these awesome?
